The Australian Bureau of Statistics ran the last Service Industry Surveys (SIS) relevant to the Australian collections sector in 2003-2004 (reference year).
As the ABS prepares to issue the next 'Public Libraries', 'Public Libraries/Archives' and 'Museums' surveys in August 2008 for 2007-2008 (reference year), they are seeking input to their review.
The Collections Council has been invited to provide input to the review on behalf of the Australian collections sector. We would like to hear about your experience with past Service Industries Surveys, and your ideas on whether these survey tools could be improved.

Final contributions are due at the ABS by 31 July 2007. Collections Council Development Officer, Veronica Bullock, will be working on this review primarily during June and would appreciate your input as early as possible.
