Conservation Survey 2006 closed today after being available online for 15 weeks. We received a strong response from around 50% of the organisations that were invited to participate.
Interpretation of the results now begins and all participants in the survey will be emailed a link to the report when it becomes available mid-year. The results are expected to assist the Collections Council in planning and coordination across the collections sector, and will provide a basis of advice to government on some collections sector needs.
The aims of Conservation Survey 2006 are:
-
To characterise conservation and preservation employment and qualifications in each of the major collecting domains in the last three years;
-
To characterise anticipated conservation and preservation employment and qualifications in each of the major collecting domains over the next three years;
-
To draw conclusions and make recommendations about the conservation and preservation employment and qualification needs of the Australian collections sector in 2006.
If you or your organisation did not participate in the survey, you will still be able to view the report under Projects on this website once it is posted. Thank you for your interest in this work.
Thanks again to all survey participants for the time spent in providing the Collections Council with valuable information from very different collecting organisations and conservation businesses.
We are confident that we have successfully captured a diverse and representative range of experience from across the domains and across the country.
