Update on progress towards the National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries
In March 2008 the National Standards Taskforce won a grant through the Ian Potter Foundation to help fund the online publication of The National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries.
The Taskforce has completed its review of the Exposure Draft of May 2007 to address feedback from the sector and ensure that the document is as relevant and up-to-date as possible.
Both CAMD and CAAMD have now endorsed the National Standards.
A valuable and practical resource for all museums.
The Council of Australian Art Museum Directors (CAAMD)
An essential guide for all museum practitioners.
The Council of Australasian Museum Directors (CAMD)
Endorsements from the Boards of all Taskforce members are currently in progress.
The Standards are currently being edited and designed in PDF and HTML versions, and will be made freely available to all museums and galleries.
Stay tuned to the Collections Australia Network (CAN) website, where the National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries will be launched online in September 2008.
