The opportunity to contribute comments to the Service Industries Surveys (SIS) review has now expired. A number of useful suggestions have been received by the Collections Council and will form a significant part of the advice provided to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) on behalf of the collections sector. Thank you to the people who have provided valued contributions. A further announcement will present the formal advice given by the Collections Council of Australia to the ABS regarding the SIS review.

The ABS has announced that it is conducting a survey of museums in respect of the 2007-08 financial year. The results from the survey will provide key financial and activity measures on museum services in Australia. These measures will be used by government analysts to address policy issues relating to museum services. read more...
